Think colours – warm and earthy, rather than summer pastels, or jewel like tones for a hit of colour. Think layering up with fabrics and textures – velvet headboards, extra cushions, luxurious throws and chunky bedspreads. Think natural, seasonal touches – logs on the fireplace, vases of sticks and berries, and wooden chopping boards on display in the kitchen. Think inviting autumnal smells – room fragrances infused with vanilla, sandlewood, figs and spice. And finally, think ambient lighting as the nights draw in – floor lamps, table lamps, spotlights for dimming, not to mention candles to create a mood.
