Property dressing in Battersea for John D Wood at Overstand Mansions.
Its always a pleasure working with John D Wood as I have been working with the company for over 20 years now, and this doesn’t include our parents time working with them! Some of my earliest working memories are popping into Cale Street to pick up keys and chatting to Andy Buchanan – I must have been around 11 on the school holidays!
It’s so worth asking professionals like ourselves or John D Wood Sales Service and Interiors Consultant Department prior to marketing your property. Its crucial to have beautiful interior photography for your listing and sales particulars. Its just what people expect to see now. Even if you have your own furniture, do ask the advice of a professional first.
We were thrilled with working on this property and how the property was transformed. As the flat has lots of period features (see the original oven in the kitchen below) we wanted to use some period pieces of furniture, mixing old and new. Using some classical styled items but with some contemporary artwork and accessories.
The flat has stunning views of Battersea Park, so we didn’t want the block the views. The pair of Andrew Martin chairs in front of the windows works well with keeping the space feeling open. I love the new floor lamp from The Chiswick Lighting Company, works beautifully with the chairs. The oversized mirror from Louise Bradley is perfect for this flat too.
It was such a pleasure to property dress this flat, and interior styling it was transformative to the rooms.
See our other recent projects here. Natalie made a short video of the property too which you can see HERE.

Here are some kind words written by our client….
‘We bought our buy-to-let flat in March 2001 and in May 2019 decided to realise our investment. Because of its location, we had number of viewings in the first few weeks but sadly, none materialised into an offer. The feedback was that being unfurnished, and somewhat “rental tired” it was difficult for potential buyers to visualise living there. We contacted Cullum Design and met up with Natalie at the end of May to discuss ideas and in a single day in June, she transformed our apartment such that we received (and accepted) an offer within 11 weeks of the flat being “staged” (including the August holiday period). I found Natalie and her team very responsive, inventive and easy to work with. She was particularly flexible when it came to removing the furniture. I feel certain that we would not have achieved such a successful sale without the help of Cullum Design and have absolutely no reservation in recommending them to future clients. ‘
