Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Cullum Design
Financial year: 2025/2026

1. Introduction

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps Cullum Design has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking do not take place in our business or supply chains.

Cullum Design is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and to implementing effective systems and controls to prevent modern slavery.

2. Our business

Cullum Design is a UK-based design studio providing creative and design services.
Our operations are primarily office-based and professional in nature.

We work with a limited number of suppliers, typically including:

  • Freelance designers and consultants

  • Printers and production suppliers

  • Professional services (e.g. IT, accounting, marketing)

Our supply chains are predominantly UK-based and low risk.

3. Our policies

Cullum Design has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery.

We maintain an Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, which:

  • Defines modern slavery and human trafficking

  • Sets out responsibilities within the business

  • Explains how concerns can be raised safely

  • Applies to employees, freelancers, contractors, and suppliers

This policy is communicated internally and is available to relevant third parties on request.

4. Due diligence processes

Given the size and nature of our business, we take a proportionate approach to due diligence, which includes:

  • Working primarily with UK-based suppliers and freelancers

  • Assessing new suppliers for ethical and reputational risks

  • Expecting suppliers and contractors to comply with applicable labour laws

  • Reserving the right to terminate relationships where modern slavery concerns arise

5. Risk assessment and management

We consider the risk of modern slavery within our own operations to be low, as we do not operate in high-risk sectors and do not employ vulnerable labour.

Potential risks may arise in parts of the wider supply chain (for example, print or furniture production). These risks are mitigated by:

  • Using established and reputable suppliers

  • Maintaining open communication with suppliers

  • Avoiding suppliers where working practices raise concerns

6. Effectiveness

Cullum Design reviews its approach to modern slavery on an ongoing basis.
Effectiveness is monitored through:

  • Awareness of modern slavery risks by senior management

  • Prompt investigation of any concerns raised

  • Annual review of this statement and related policies

7. Training and awareness

Modern slavery awareness forms part of induction for relevant staff and contractors.
As a small business, training is proportionate and focused on:

  • Recognising indicators of modern slavery

  • Understanding how to raise concerns

8. Approval

This statement has been approved by the Managing Director of Cullum Design and will be reviewed annually.
